Happy birthday to you...
happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear nappy, happy birthday to you! One year ago I finally got the guts to lock my hair and I am loving it. Not everyday... not on the days when my locs decide to stick out in every possible direction, but those days are few in number compared to the days when I look in the mirror and think "This is me".

Happy Birthday Locks!! They grew a lot in a year and they got thicker too.
I heart your locks. This makes me happy. What a transition. I remember when I had to beg you to go to harlem with me to get your hair straightened -- t'was the beginning of quite a revelation eh?
